Uganda Bible Project Blog |
Uganda Bible Project is dedicated to giving Bibles to all in Uganda who yearn to read and study God’s Word, but lack access or the means to get a Bible. God’s Word in the hands of the people is a simple, yet powerful tool that is bringing transformation to individuals, families, and communities. UBP distributes Bibles through established, ongoing partnerships with local ministries and churches in Uganda who demonstrate a commitment to outreach and discipleship. Just $6 buys a Bible for someone in Uganda with 100% of all donations going directly to the purchase of Bibles. |
Working with Eternal Impact I have been blessed to get to know Kennedy, our Ministry director in Uganda. Kennedy is also the pastor of one of our partnering churches, United Faith Chapel on the campus of Kampala International University.
I recently asked Kennedy share some insights into the need for Bibles in Uganda. Here is part of his response.
“Many people in Africa would love to have Bibles and really read them, but one obstacle is that it is expensive and hard for them to get. It looks cheap, but it takes a lot of sacrifice for people who live on less than a dollar a day to save enough to buy a Bible - not because they don’t value the Bible, but just becasue of the reality of a hard life. And this is true even for college students who live on a very thin survival budget. So getting a Bible to someone is a great step because many are hungry and thirst for God but can’t afford a Bible. You can imagine the joy and smile that radiates people’s faces on receiving a Bible!”
